BESTeam weekly feature: Empress Jade

Ooooh - my first chance to review a vintage clothing store on Etsy - Empress Jade - based in BC Canada specialises in glamourous vintage lingerie but also covers vintage clothing and accessories from the rockability 50s, mod 60s, groovy 70s and glam 80s!

Being a bit of a ageing hippy-chick myself and a big fan of Mad Men style, I've picked out some 60s styles for my favourites.  Click on any of the pictures to be taken to the shop:

The shops are full of maxi dresses at the moment, aren't they? But why have one from the high street when this is vintage and unique?

Folksy Friday - A little crochet

I love the retro look of these Folksy finds!




This crochet satchel by The Sunroom reminds me of some great summer sunsets and the crochet handbag by Eva B Designs is so pretty and practical!


This top (made to order by Blue Fish Handmade) is a great summer colour, I think,and the table ware by Marti Rich Creations has a lovely traditional feel.


Proving that crochet goes beyond the traditional is this great bouquet arrangement by Chez Penny and I couldn't miss out this spectacular scarf by Victoria Jackman in the most amazing colours!

I wish I could crochet but my stitches were always too tight or too slack...

BESTeam weekly feature Dandee on Etsy

This week I'm featuring Dandee - a great Etsy shop for humourous cards and lots of other items like light switch covers and tea towels. These cards and messages will really crack you up - there are some cheeky ones you could send to really good friends, but they are all guaranteed to put a smile on someone's face.

Dandee has been going for 12 years and always has recycling and upcycling in mind which is great to know.

See what I mean? The 'Love you more than ...' card is great if you're a Little Britain fan too!

Dandee also does a range of light switch covers which will get you humming some classic pop tunes from the Beatles to Blondie!

The great news in this store is that soon all the cards will be 100% recycled, so you can send them guilt-free, knowing that the planet hasn't been hurt! And if you have an idea for a card you want to see created, that can be done too.
